It can be recoated in just 15 minutes! • Recoat in just 15 minutes • No peeling or flaking • Naturally slip resistant • Stain resistant • How to use Quick Drying Decking Stain Before you start, choose a warm, dry day (above 10°C) and clear the deck. New Decks 1. Most new decks come with a bit of waterproofing protection. This could stop the stain from sticking. To avoid this, give your new deck a good scrub with our Decking Cleaner & Reviver. Alternatively, leave it to weather for six months. 2. Rinse thoroughly with water, ideally with a pressure washer. 3. To check if any pre-treatment is remaining, sprinkle some water on the deck and see if it beads. 4. If it doesn't bead, you'll be ready to put on the stain. If it does then you'll have to clean it again until the water stops beading. 5. Allow the wood to dry thoroughly before applying the stain. Untreated, grey and weathered decks 1. Use our Decking Restorer to take the deck back to its natural colour. This also helps the stain to soak in, so your deck will look great for longer. Previously treated decks 1. If your deck has been previously stained with our Quick Drying Decking Stain then just give the deck a good clean using our Decking Cleaner & Reviver, allow the wood to dry and you're good to go. 2. If your deck has been painted or oiled, use our Decking Stripper to get it back to bare wood. It's not as hard as you think and it's definitely worth it. 3. If your deck has been treated with any other stain, you'll also need to strip it first using our Decking Stripper. Application 1. Give the stain a good stir and dip in your brush or paint pad. Check you’re happy with the colour. Find a small hidden patch of wood and try it. 2. Start in the furthest corner, applying along the length of the boards. Work on 3-4 boards at a time so you don’t get any overlap marks. 3. You’ll need to put on 2 coats. After just 15 minutes you'll be able to apply the second coat even if it's still slightly wet as this will help the stain stick to the wood. After 24 hours you’ll be able to get your furniture out and use the deck. 4. If you get any stain on yourself, wash it off with warm soapy water. Aftercare Cleaning Wipe as much stain off your brush or pad as you. Then clean it in warm, soapy water. Don’t empty any leftover stain into drains or watercourses. Your local authority may have special ways to get rid of waste product. Maintenance Our Quick Drying Decking Stain will keep your deck protected and looking great all season long. When the colour begins to fade, simply clean the deck using Ronseal Decking Cleaner & Reviver, leave the deck to dry and then recoat with your favourite Ronseal Quick Drying Decking Stain colour.
